RYCO 24•7 Race Day Event With Special Guest – Craig Dontas
Another amazing and successful event was held at RYCO 24•7 headquarters at Derrimut, Australia inviting V8 SuperUte sponsored driver, Craig Dontas down for a visit to meet the friendly faces behind the team that make up RYCO 24•7. Although the day was gloomy, wet, and miserable, this did not hinder the result of the event and its success.
The day began with the arrival of sponsored driver Craig Dontas who was greeted by Chief Operating Officer, Glenn Allen, the greeting eventuated into a full tour of our state-of-the-art office and manufacturing facility and insights into our daily operations. Trying not to overload Craig with too much information, the warehouse tour involved a brief overview of the processes, and some of the testing procedures taken to ensure RYCO hoses and fittings are built to achieve a premium result.
Following the tour was a presentation which was delivered in front of all our Melbourne staff. The presentation was an introduction about Craig, his relationship with RYCO 24•7 and some history on his motorsports career. Craig also had the pleasure of announcing the two lucky winners of our staff trivia quiz in which each winner was gifted with a RYCO 24•7 Race Day Hamper which also included two weekend passes to the SuperCars Sandown round. Lucky winner, Chantal said she was “thrilled to win tickets! Not normally a winner so [she] was shocked when [her] name was called out!” The Sandown SuperSprint event was also a “great day out and an amazing chance to go behind the scenes at the pits.”
It was only fitting that as Craig concluded the formalities by turning the key on the on-track Mitsubishi Triton V8 powered Ute. This was a great opportunity for RYCO 24•7 staff to see the car running and hear the engine roar, the echo of the sound within the walls of the warehouse was something spectacular and a site to be witnessed
To conclude what was an amazing day in the making Craig and the RYCO 24•7 team were treated to a delicious lunch – potato jacks and build your own style burger was on the menu. Leaving the event with full stomachs and the delight of meeting with Craig, it’s fair to say the event was a success as there were many smiles on everyone’s face after such a great day.
