What a great start to Round 1 at the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint held at Symmons Plains Raceway, for RYCO 24•7 Team Triton from 26th – 27th of March!
RYCO 24•7 race car driver, Craig Dontas delivered great news stating, “it was a dream return to racing, winning Race 1, coming through to take 3rd in the reverse grid race, and then 2nd within Race 3!”
“The RYCO 24•7 V8 SuperUtes was a blast with the category also putting on a great show”, Craig continued.
The major insights for RYCO 24•7 V8 SuperUtes during Round 1:
When the event started, the RYCO 24•7 Team Triton became successfully qualified in 3rd position and it was a great kick-off! As Craig mentioned, “it was a super cool weekend of racing down in Tassie”.
Craig continued, “In Race 4 we got the jump and took the lead, but unfortunately, there was a hefty crash which brought out the red flag so the race was called short, and he felt we were on for the win which would have secured the round win. But on countback, we got 2nd for the round, and we now leave Tassie a close second in the championship!”.
“Whilst being a little nervous after a fair time out of the seat, I was super happy and proud of the result the coverage, and all the positive sentiment,” concluded Craig.
We are looking forward to Round 2 of the V8 SuperUtes in Perth for the Bunnings Trade SuperNight event from 30th April – to the 1st of May. Stay tuned for more brilliant results to come!
